Our story

Our farmers from Uganda are what set us apart.

Jebale is a family-owned project built on our Ugandan roots. Each season we carefully choose the regions, farmers and beans that support our vision: exceptional single origin coffee that gives back to the communities that grow it.

From the farm to your cup

01 · Grow
Mount Elgon, Uganda

Our partner farmers grow coffee alongside bananas, onions, passionfruit and more in eastern Uganda.

02 · Process
Mbale, Uganda

Cherries are honey, washed or naturally processed, dried and milled into quality green beans by our team in Uganda.

03 · Roast
Vancouver, USA

Our family roasts in small batches, so every bag is fresh and full of flavor.

04 · Serve
Vancouver and Portland

Come visit us at one of our coffee shops. We would love to see you!

05 · Give back
Along the way

We give back in the communities where our coffee is grown, processed, roasted and served.

About the name
jebale
JAY · BA · LAY

“Gyebaleko…” is a greeting you’ll hear in towns all over Uganda. It means “well done” or “you’re doing good,” and it’s often shortened to “Gyebale.” We love the double meaning: the quality in every bag, and the good it does for the people who grew it.

Taste the difference they make.

Every bag gives back!
